FluoroGuard is a blended
polytetrafluoroethylene( Teflon ) related
finish for fine carpets and some fabrics and
wall coverings. It is applied using either an
aqueous or water based carrier or a solvent.
The water based system cannot be applied to
some fabrics so testing is essential before
application.
A particular advantage of FluoroGuard
is that it has superior resistance to oil
based spills with improved surface tension and
beading of spills.
Another advantage of FluoroGuard is
improvement in the wear ability of fabrics and
carpeting. The treatment actually reduces the
friction of use extending the life and duty of
a given application.
The treatment can be applied before
installation on bulk goods or after
installation. It is safe for most fabrics but
should be pre-tested to insure compatibility
with the dyes and materials.
FluoroGuard will dry to the touch in
two to four hours and will fully cure in 72
hours. Traffic should be curtailed during the
first four hours until the product is fully
dry.
