The History of Interior Technologies

Interior Technologies was started in 1972 by  the Kirkconnell Brothers. Beginning as a  Carpet Cleaning and  Restoration Service the company slowly grew over the years adding new services driven by customer interest.

During the years Interior Technologies developed and made many contributions to our Industries.

• We were FIRST in Houston to combine Rinse Extraction with Rotary Scrubbing to remove the chemicals back out of the carpeting after they did their work.

• We purchased one of the first PC's made by Radio Shack and began computerizing management of our maintenance program schedules in the 70's allowing more complex finely tailored maintenance programs

• We were the first licensed applicator of 3M Scothguard in Houston, and eventually purchased Fiber Solutions America, a manufacturer of fine carpet and fabric protection.

• We created the Power Wand Extraction system combining the superior agitation of reel type brushes and Hot Water Extraction.

• We perfected the Marbleized Filling System used to fill travertine. We brought back the old European method for polishing stone.

We purchased our largest Carpet Cleaning competitor in 1984, Textile Maintenance Industries (TMI) and acquired the rights to the patented process called Buffaway AKA (Electrostatic)& (Hexatrac).

We Acquired Fiber Solutions America in 1994 and the rights to the Fiber Solutions America's  Carpet and Fabric Protection Systems.
